About formX

formX is building an AI-native platform that redefines how the built environment is designed and delivered.

We are not layering AI onto existing workflows—we are rebuilding the system from first principles. Our platform combines generative models, agentic orchestration, and computational geometry to automate and optimize the full lifecycle of residential development—from concept generation to planning and execution.

The Role

We’re looking for an exceptional software engineer who thrives on solving complex technical problems and building intelligent systems that have real-world impact.

You will help build the computational core of FormX’s AI design and construction platform. Working at the intersection of AI, computational geometry, structural engineering, and automation, you will develop systems that transform architectural designs into buildable, fabrication-ready structures—including structural assemblies, construction details, and engineering outputs.

You will design AI agents that reason through design requirements, engineering constraints, code compliance, and optimization decisions, while collaborating closely with architecture, engineering, product, and software teams. You will also help define the long-term technical architecture of a platform that automates significant portions of the design and construction processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong software engineering background with experience building complex systems, algorithms, and production software.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Strong Python experience.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Experience with AI systems, LLMs, agentic workflows, AI orchestration frameworks, or machine learning applications.
  • Ability to solve difficult problems from first principles and execute with a high degree of ownership.
  • Appreciation for clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Experience with structural engineering, CAD, BIM, computational design, or construction technology is a strong plus.
