DevOps Team Lead

Description

We are seeking a highly experienced DevOps Team Lead to join the OneLayer team. In this role, you will lead a team of DevOps engineers while remaining hands-on — guiding infrastructure decisions, driving implementation efforts across our technology stack, and owning the team's roadmap and delivery.

As our DevOps Team Lead, you will assess and evolve our infrastructure, identify improvements, and implement solutions while collaborating with your team and cross-functional stakeholders. You'll set the technical direction for our DevOps practices and tooling choices, plan and prioritize work, and ensure your team delivers reliably. Beyond the technical scope, you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and growing your team members.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, observability systems, and infrastructure as code — combined with a proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering (required)
• 2+ years of experience in engineering team leadership, including hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and career development (required)
• Proven ability to own and drive a team roadmap and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Proven track record of leading infrastructure initiatives and guiding technical decisions
• Deep expertise in cloud architecture and services, with hands-on AWS experience (required)
• Strong experience with K8s ecosystem, both on-prem and cloud (K3s, EKS, etc.), Helm (required)
• Proficiency in containerization with Docker (required)
• Experience with Kubernetes policy management using Kyverno (required)
• Experience with Kubernetes backup and disaster recovery using Velero (required)
• Experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitOps practices (required)
• Strong automation skills with Python/Bash scripting and Linux system administration (required)
• Proficiency in Azure AD integration and enterprise authentication (required)
• Database administration experience with PostgreSQL (required)
• Hands-on experience with message brokers and event streaming platforms (required)
• Experience with virtualization platforms for hybrid infrastructure (preferred)
• Experience with identity management using Keycloak (preferred)
• Solid understanding of infrastructure as code principles and tools
• Experience implementing security best practices and zero-trust architectures
• Expertise in observability solutions including metrics, logging, and distributed tracing
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to evaluate and recommend technology changes based on organizational needs
