Quantum Source is a novel key player at the forefront of the worldwide effort towards large-scale quantum computation. Based on proprietary technology, Quantum Source is developing a unique photonic quantum computer that can support efficient quantum error correction.

We are a young, dynamic, and extraordinarily multidisciplinary company that combines the fields of quantum physics, optics, mechanical engineering, hardware, firmware, and software.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Researcher to join the Theory Group.

The Theory Group, as its name indicates, is responsible for laying down the theoretical groundwork for our quantum computing platform. Its tasks range from developing theoretical models of quantum hardware components to designing quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures.

As a Researcher in the Group, you will work on a variety of extremely challenging problems at the forefront of quantum computing.

Responsibilities:

· Research, design, and implement theoretical models ranging from “micro” to “macro” levels; typical projects may include:

  • Cavity QED simulations
  • Design of quantum error correction codes tailored to our quantum hardware
  • Theoretical support and guidance of experimental work at the lab and many others

· Build state-of-the-art simulation tools to model and analyse error mechanisms in quantum systems.

· Collaborate with experimental teams to validate theoretical predictions through simulations and experiments.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including experimental physicists, engineers, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration between theory and experimental efforts. Foster effective collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics: Quantum Optics/Open Quantum Systems, Condensed Matter, or related field, ideally, with a focus on Quantum Information.
  • Proven experience in implementing complex algorithms in Python, C++, or another programming language. Experience in numerical simulations of quantum systems – strong advantage.
  • Background in foundations of Computer Science (Algorithms/Data Structures, Complexity, Graph Theory) – strong advantage.
  • Steep learning curve, readiness to explore and master new areas.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate uncertain situations.

If you are passionate about quantum computing, excited about driving scientific breakthroughs, and possess strong leadership skills, we would love to hear from you. Join our team and be at the forefront of quantum computing innovation!
