Leveraging proprietary technology, we are developing a unique photonic quantum computer capable of efficient quantum error correction. As a young and dynamic organization, we are extraordinarily multidisciplinary, integrating expertise in quantum physics, optics, mechanical engineering, hardware, firmware, and software.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our Photonics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting experimental research in the field of silicon photonics, with a particular focus on developing devices for quantum computing applications. They will have strong background in all facets of experimental silicon photonics, hold a Ph.D. degree in physics or electrical engineering, and have at least 5 years of experience in silicon photonics research, either in industry or academia.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop silicon photonic devices – design, simulation, fabrication, testing and analysis.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop novel solutions and techniques in the field of quantum computing and cold atoms.
  3. Develop and optimize fabrication processes for silicon photonic devices with partners and vendors.

Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in physics or Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in silicon photonics.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of research experience in silicon photonics.
  3. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of silicon photonics, including device design, fabrication, and characterization.
  4. Experience with modeling and simulation tools for silicon photonics, such as Lumerical, COMSOL, or equivalent.
  5. Hands-on experience of characterization techniques for silicon photonic devices, including optical testing, measurement and data analysis.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and execute innovative research ideas.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a research team.
