We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our Photonics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting experimental research in the field of silicon photonics, with a particular focus on developing devices for quantum computing applications. They should have strong background in all facets of experimental silicon photonics, hold a Ph.D. degree in physics or electrical engineering, and have at least 5 years of experience in silicon photonics research, either in industry or academia.
Responsibilities:
- Develop silicon photonic devices – design, simulation, fabrication, testing and analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop novel solutions and techniques in the field of quantum computing and cold atoms.
- Develop and optimize fabrication processes for silicon photonic devices with partners and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in physics or Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in silicon photonics.
- Minimum of 5 years of research experience in silicon photonics.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of silicon photonics, including device design, fabrication, and characterization.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools for silicon photonics, such as Lumerical, COMSOL, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience in characterization techniques for silicon photonic devices, including optical testing, measurement and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and execute innovative research ideas.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a research team.
