The IoT RF Expert will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing RF systems for Wiliot’s IoT solutions, with a strong emphasis on supporting client deployments and troubleshooting in real-world environments. This position combines deep technical expertise in RF engineering with hands-on experience as a field technician, ensuring seamless integration and performance of Wiliot’s technology at customer sites.

• Design and Development: Lead the design, simulation, and optimization of RF circuits, antennas, and systems for IoT devices.
• Field Deployment: Work directly with clients to install, test, and troubleshoot RF systems in various real-world environments.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and enhance RF system performance, including sensitivity, range, and interference management, particularly during field implementations.
• Client Support: Provide hands-on technical support and training to customers, ensuring successful deployment and operation of Wiliot’s IoT solutions.
• Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test protocols both in the lab and in the field to ensure reliability and compliance of RF systems.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with hardware, firmware, and software teams to integrate RF systems into end-to-end IoT solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of designs, processes, fieldwork, and test results for internal and external stakeholders.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in RF design and development, particularly for IoT or low-power devices.
• 3+ years of experience in fieldwork or client-facing roles, such as a field technician or deployment engineer.
• Expertise in antenna design, RF circuits, and system-level RF performance optimization.
• Proficiency in RF simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS).
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.).
• Familiarity with wireless communication protocols such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, or NFC.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with ultra-low-power design principles.
• Experience in IoT system architecture and integration.
• Knowledge of RF regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, etc.).
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and simulation.
